- For eighteen years, I was a technical writer and a functional analyst for the Federal Aviation
Administration. As an analyst, I worked with computer end users to determine t their business requirements. Then, I translated their responses into programming language that our IT developers used to build the software. Afterwards I tested the new software to ensure that it met the users’ real world needs. Success in all of this hinged on one essential skill – the ability to communicate!
- In addition, I wrote online user manuals for the new software as well as online training
manuals. I taught users in both formal training classes and ad hoc sessions.
- I wrote, edited and designed the graphics for a monthly online newsletter for our division.
- Before that, I worked for the Department of Treasury for eleven years in an auditing and
enforcement capacity.
- I worked for the State of Oklahoma Land Commission and helped automate their
accounting process.
- Some years ago, I also worked for both a major investment firm and a manufacturing
company, in downtown Oklahoma City.
- I have a bachelor's degree from Florida State University, and over thirty-six semester hours
in business and accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma.
